Echoes from the Universe is Filled with Poetic Inspiration and Insight
Evans is a poet, and this is a poetry book. It behooves this
work, Echoes from the Universe, to speak plainly 'cause that’s just what this work tries to do: speak plainly. Contrary to the title, Evans’
poems do not work on the grand scale, nor do they expose the schemata behind the stars. Evans’ tactic is to show the design of the world in a
single blade of grass.
Examining mostly small human, animal, and natural
phenomena through both structured and free style poetry, Evans tries to show a world vastly complicated precisely because of its simplicity.
Simultaneously, he presents moral arguments in their simple logic and presents a responsible dignity we should all maintain in the moral
choices we make.
Evans’ writing ranges from the simple physical descriptions
of the world around us to the deeper permutations of the complex equation that humanity is. It’s a work that belongs on the coffee table or the
night stand to distill momentary inspiration and insight at a pensive moment. Within a few glances, anyone could find something that relates to
their world and tickles their mind.
